Learners studying for a driving theory test from 23rd January 2012 onwards, will discover changes in the testing and revision system. These changes mean the introduction of new multiple choice questions in the real theory test, which will remain unpublished. Although these questions will not appear in any driving test manual, there will be a set of new ‘official revision questions’ to help students study for their test.
One of the first computer based products to feature these new revision questions, and a whole lot more, is the 2012 version of Driving Test Success. This DVD-ROM pack runs on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows XP computers, and covers theory, hazard perception, and practical driving lessons. Designed for drivers in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the discs enable you to practice all the official Driving Standards Agency revision questions, which resemble real tests as much as possible.
Start-up the theory test disc and you’ll have the chance to take unlimited mock theory tests, which come complete with handy explanations aimed at helping you remember correct answers. If you’re unsure of your progress, then intelligent tracking can give you an idea of when you’re ready for the real thing.
When you’re ready to practice hazard perception you’ll find unlimited mock tests using hundreds of video clips. These clips simulate real road set-ups with potential hazards for you to spot, and you can review the answers and possible scores afterwards. Just with all these discs, there are handy hints and tips and other video footage to help you pass the test. Lastly, there are around 50 video tutorials to help you with everything from approaching and negotiating roundabouts, to emergency stops, parallel parking, and stopping distances. You’ll also be able to watch a mock driving test in action and pick up pointers about what an instructor is looking for. All in all, Focus Multimedia has produced one of the most comprehensive products on the market, and one that is in line with DSA standards.
